Where We Live

Formerly we lived in Ossining, New York (until November 2000)

Now we live in Ojai, California.

Where is Ojai?

The Ojai Valley is an hour and a half north of Los Angeles (75 miles up the Pacific coast), and about 35 miles southeast of Santa Barbara. The City of Ojai is 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean (at the City of Ventura) and is surrounded by 5,000+ foot mountains of the Los Padres National Forest. There are about 8,000 residents living in the City of Ojai, about 20,000 in the entire Ojai Valley (not counting the thousands of citrus and avacado trees). The valley was settled by the Chumash indians over 1000 years ago, and reflects the Spanish heritage of California.

We live in a very quiet corner of the Ojai Valley. It's a community centered around a circular road on the side of a hill looking north towards the mountains of the Los Padres National Forest.

Here are some pictures of our home:

Lots of roses out front!

Some of our citrus trees located in the rear garden with Los Padres National Forest mountains beyond...

And the view out of our front windows towards the Los Padres National Forest mountains (this view is Ojai's "Pink Moment" as the sun is setting)...

And the view in the wintertime...

The downtown of the City of Ojai. This is the "Arcade," the main shopping area...

...with Libbey Park across the street (the park includes an outdoor perfromance area, band gazebo, public tennis courts with grandstands, a large open area shaded by oak trees, a children's plaground and the Libbey Fountain).
